Weekend's are great for a breakfast picnic! I love for everyone to squeeze in the family room, enjoy breakfast & watch morning cartoons. A large blanket typically used for a picnic placed in your favorite gathering room will create an outdoor feel of a picnic, great for chilly, winter days! I like to serve pancakes for the kids with all their favorite toppings for them and any guests that sleep over. For family or friends in town for the holidays, stuffed pancakes are a hit! This is a picnic that everyone can enjoy and far from PB&J!
Fruit filled between each pancake is an easy way to layer your pancakes and give them a tasty, decorative look. I like to serve individual bowls of syrup, which is great if you don't like having to wait for the syrup bottle to be passed around. I like to top off my pancakes with not only the fruit I have stuffed each layer with but whip cream and chopped walnuts. Food placed on a serving tray used for breakfast in bed is best as this gives a sturdy, flat surface to help prevent spills.
I include several small bowls filled with sliced strawberries and bananas, blueberries, chocolate chips, whip cream and orange slices for the kids. Making fun faces such as pig pancakes are their favorite! A hit with friends that stay over too!
