Christmas is almost here, are you ready? It's tradition in my home to put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. For those with a real tree you are probably hoping to find the perfect tree by this weekend! Once you have your tree, it's time to decorate! This would be by far my most dreaded and favorite part at the same time! I like to change things up each year. Take away color or a particular style or even add an unexpected pop of color OR as I have done this year, toss out the color entirely! My theme is neutral and natural. This including pine cones, ornaments made of birch, twine, twig, deer, owl, birds and squirrels to name a few! All a monochromatic color scheme and don't forget the faux fur and animal print to finish off the look. The coziness of it all makes me feel as if I were celebrating the holidays in a cabin surrounded by pine and snow!
Clearly I am a huge coffee fanatic. Therefore, simple touches such as this Starbuck's ornament is a must!
Pictures of my children are displayed in framed ornaments.
Homemade ornaments are always a nice touch.
Decorating a mantel, shelve or entry way with garland is an easy way to dress up the space for a festive look.
I faux throw and an animal print complete the nature inspired look.
Placing old Christmas pictures in frames around your home are a fun way to look back at previous years. Old family pics of you as a child with your family are fun for your children to look at as well!
I like to tie in the same theme when decorating the kitchen and dining room area. A table setting to match my nature inspired theme is simple and fun for guests! Wrapping feathers, fur or even twigs around a cloth napkin will dress up any table. Simple tie it on with raffia for a rustic look or ribbon to give it an elegant look.
Now it looks more like Christmas!
